Highlight Videos help High School Athletes Get an Athletic Scholarship.
October 23rd, 2011Budget cuts have caused collegiate athletic programs to depend on prospective athletes to promote themselves rather than sending a scout to their games. This reality means that athletes that are serious about playing at the next level need a professional highlight video so they can effectively promote their skills, accomplishments and aspirations to the right colleges. An effective highlight video will utilize close ups and slow motion to demonstrate the athletes specific skills sought by coaches. Footage from sport specific workouts and training also give coaches the background info needed by coaches to make a decision to either offer a scholarship, send a scout to meet an athlete or invite the athlete to visit their campus. Additionally, interviews asking the right questions and testimonials from high school coaches are extremely important. So, if you or someone you know is an above average athlete with good grades a Recruit Reels highlight video is the answer to playing at the next level. Hunter Weber: Top Goal Keeper from Little Rock, Arkansas
October 3rd, 2011Hunter Weber from Little Rock, Arkansas impressed Recruit Reels with his leadership, skills and character.
This well respected and admired high school junior impresses all that observe not just his play, but his field general ship. We filmed Hunter at a tournament in Memphis, TN this summer and we thoroughly impressed with his play and interview skills. Hunters ability to reflect on his strengths and weaknesses, his team and his opponent would impress even the most seasoned college soccer coach. We wish Hunter the best and look forward to following his career!
Eating Before Exercise
September 14th, 2011Eating proper foods before physical activity can give you the energy and strength you need to finish strong. Look for options high in carbohydrates, adequate in protein and moderate in fat and fiber. These foods are good choices for a pre-activity meal.
You should eat a larger meal three or four hours before exercise. Closer to the activity, have a small snack such as fruit. This will give you the last-minute bump your body needs.

High School Football on ESPN
September 5th, 2011Have you been following ESPN’s broadcast of the high school football games from around the country? Today’s game was between Dwyer and Glades Central — both Florida high school teams. Seeing these top prospects on a national stage is fantastic. Recently ESPN has been showing several top high school football games on both ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3. Much like the Little League World Series or the McDonalds High School Basketball Showcases, these high school football games showcase some of America’s top college prospects. We can’t seem to get enough football coverage, especially of young recruits. Every one wants to know who their favorite college team will have on the roster next year as they compete for just the right players. So often championships are really won during recruiting season.

September 3rd, 2011USC survives a scare from Minnesota? Wonder when there will be rumbles at USC about Lane Kiffin? He lost 8 games last year and now USC is under suspension by the NCAA. The TCU vs. Baylor game was fantastic last night – unbelievable back and forth by those two teams. Baylor is the Vanderbilt of the Southwest – usually getting pummeled by their opponents on a regular basis, but they put it to TCU. Congrat Baylor Bears and good luck TCU – gonna be a tough season looks like. Another big scare for another big team – defending national champs, Auburn nearly got embarrassed at home by Utah State – UTAH STATE, a perennial homecoming team. But the War Eagle pulled it out and live for another day. Next Saturday actually.

College Football Kick Off
September 3rd, 2011Almost every student athlete that living out their dream of playing college football had to be recruited. They were either recruited by a college or they “self-recruited”. What is “self-recruiting”? First an important statistic. Only 2% of college athletes on a scholarship were actively recruited by the school they play sports for. Therefore, the other 98% of college athletes had to recruit themselves by sending letters, videos, trying out or getting a third party pitch them to a college coach. As coaches get overwhelmed by the number of high school athletes seeking a college scholarship they demand a simplified and sophisticated solution to finding the right athletes for their programs. That’s where Recruit Reels comes in. We provide EXACTLY what coaches need – concise, professional highlight videos displaying not just slow-motion footage of the athlete in game-time action, but interviews, work outs and even testimonials from their coaches. This professionally produced video product provides a coach, scout or recruiter the info they need to make a decision.
On our next blog we will discuss the cost of college and how high school student athletes and their parents can afford college tuition.
Get Reel. Get Recruited.
